Here is a set of three spare tips for the 40W Solder Station that we offer.
The Set includes:
1 x Flat Tip (approx 3.5mm tip width) - This is big and not really suited to electronics work, but its in the set so if you ever need to solder a big block of metal to a Ship then you have the perfect tip for the job. (it's okay for Automotive Electrics though)
1 x Round Tip (approx 3.5mm tip diameter) - The same drawbacks of size mentioned above are pertinent here too- But this one is round! (who decides which tips to include in a set?!)
1 x Pointed Tip (approx 1mm tip diameter) - Yay! At last - just what we need! - This is a nice tip for most light electronic work and will fit the above Solder Station perfectly.

I am glad that ProtoPic decided to stock these solder tips as I found them hard to find locally. As the description says; the larger of the three bits is not really of use in electronics field but ideal for heavier work in hobby electrics and automotive areas. The same can be said of the round tip also. It is quite large and is suitable for heavier electronic work where semiconductors are not used. But the smaller pointed tips are ideal for electronic PCB work. The price is reasonable if you use all three tips. But it would have achieved achieved a higher score and better value for money, had there been three fine tips in the set. I would advise buying the 'Solder Tip Tinner and Cleaner' as well to keep the tips in good condition.
