If you want to get some sound out of your project but have a tight space budget, this is a good way to do it. This 0.25W, 8Ohm speaker is only 40mm in diameter and just over 4mm thick, the same kind you might find in one of those "talking greeting cards".

83p. Not bad at all. I used this with the Sparkfun voice recorder kit. Good clear sound, not high-fidelity quality but it's an inch big, flat, and its 83p.
It needs mounting rigidly, otherwise you get a lot of vibration. In experimentation, I put it on top of a notebook, and used the strap that keeps the notebook shut to keep the speaker steady. Works a treat. I can't fault this speaker; for 83p it's probably the best value for money one I've ever bought.
