Loading... Please wait...The Arduino Starter Kit is a great raw parts re-fill for beginners and weathered professionals alike. Included is a multitude of inputs, outputs, and sensors to get your workbench back up to par. If you're just getting started with Arduino, we recommend the SparkFun Inventor's Kit that comes with a printed manual.
Included:
As an alternative to this kit from SparkFun, check out the Proto-PIC Starter Kit For Arduino UNO that we have created ourselves. We think its a great kit with a great range of included extras and components.
The Arduino Starter Kit is one of SparkFun’s most popular parts packages – a brilliant way to get your inventor’s workbench well stocked for the next rush of creativity! The kit includes a massive range of wires, connectors, LEDs and a selection of sensors – as well as a miniature breadboard and of course an Arduino Uno. Please be aware that the Arduino Starter Kit is ordered in from SparkFun on your behalf, so we have no control over whether the kit contains the SMD or PTH version of the Uno.
A 6 inch USB A to B cable provides enough power for most projects, while the miniature breadboard (which comes in varying colours) can be used to make circuits or connections off the Arduino itself. The Arduino Starter Kit also contains male to male jumper wires; a flex sensor (giving you the same sensitivity as the Nintendo Power Glove!); a SoftPot; a thermistor; a Tri Colour LED; a variable resistor; a buzzer; a 12mm button; five 330 Ohm resistors; and a 10k Ohm resistor.
The Arduino Starter Kit is ideal for topping up your existing supply of parts. Beginners may prefer the SparkFun Inventor’s Kit, which includes a manual as well as all the parts.

Ordered 15:00 on Wednesday along with a "spare" board, arrived 08:45 on Thursday using standard delivery.
Well done - you've got my future business.

Following my previous comments, the team at Proto-Pic have sent me a 9V battery lead and a purpose-built base that holds the Uno and a breadboard together - what a fantastic response! :-)

Ordered on Tuesday - here on Wednesday :)
I'd suggest 2 little addtions
1 - a 9V battery lead so you can go mobile with a project.
2- A bit of foam to insulate the Uno from any metal bits lying around (workaround is to bluetac the Uno to the little cardboard box it came in :)

This is my first taste of Arduino, the community support is great. Loads of fun! proto-pic delivered in expected time and condition. It was good to have all the resources to get started in one kit, definitely recommended for those starting out, like me.
