Neopixel
What is a Neopixel?
NeoPixel is actually a brand that Adafruit created, but using the LEDs from WorldSemi. These individually-addressable RGB LEDs are based on the WS2812 LED and WS2811 drivers from WorldSemi. Adafruit has created Arduino and Python libraries for these for easy us with the Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Micro:Bit, and more.
For a reduced footprint, the WS2811 controller is integrated into the LED package, so these are very smart LEDs. The control protocol for NeoPixels is based on one wire communication, I2C.
