Conductive Fabric and Thread

Fabric and thread for wearable technology creations. Conductive thread is a really easy way to sew up all the parts in your e-textiles projects, as long as you have basic sewing and electronics knowledge is a great way to learn and get into wearable electronics without a large upfront cost!

Conductive thread can carry current the same way that wires can, which means it can be used to create a circuit. This allows the user to sew a circuit together, creating flexible circuits that require no soldering. Conductive thread is perfect for adding electronics into textiles (clothing, hats, bags etc.). This does not have to be just LEDs. The thread could be used to connect many different types of sensors or input devices, and also many types of output devices.

Stainless Thin Conductive Thread

These stainless steel thread falls somewhere between a thick thread and a thin yarn. Most sewing machines wouldn't be happy with this thread since its thick, and it has the 'furry' soft feel of yarn which makes it poor for most e-textiles/wearables projects. These are made of stainless steel fibers, it will not oxidize like silver does, your projects will not 'stop working' because of oxidation after a few months and its safe to wash. However, this thread is a little 'stiff', it feels a little like 'waxed thread' and is not ideal for making iPhone-compatible gloves. We have a wide range of conductive-thread available.

Heating Pad

Heating pad is a pad used for warming of parts of the body in order to manage pain. These heating pads are constructed using a mesh of Polyester filament and Micro Metal Conductive Fiber folded into a protective Polyimide Film. The fact that these are low power, flexible, and draw little power makes them ideal for things like hand-warmers and other heated garments.
