The MPU-6050 consists of a MEMs 3-axis Accelerometer and a 3-axis Gyroscope as well as a DMP (digital motion processor) enables this breakout to measure acceleration, velocity, orientation, displacement and many other motion related parameters! While being powerful and smart enough to process any complex calculation without cross-axis alignment problems allowing your microcontroller plenty breathing room.
This Breakout also has an additional 2 auxiliary pins to interface external modules such as a magnetometer, please note these are completely optional and not required for general use.
The module also has two auxiliary pins which can be used to interface external IIC modules like a magnetometer, however it is optional. Since the IIC address of the module is configurable more than one MPU-6050 sensor can be interfaced to a Microcontroller using the AD0 pin.
