3mm Hexagonal Shaft Adapter for LEGO Wheels - Pololu 1011

This adapter allows you to drive one of LEGO's wide variety of high-quality wheels with a standard 3mm hexagonal shaft, such as those found on many Tamiya gearboxes.  The adapter can be used with any LEGO wheel that accepts a standard axle, as long as the tire does not extend more than 9mm (0.35") beyond the inner edge of the hub so that the gearbox body will not rub against the tire0. It's perfect the high-quality wheels found in LEGO product lines such as Technic or Mindstorms. They can be integrated into a variety of configurations to build your robot the way you want. The adapters are sold in pairs.

Instructions:

1. Fit the adapter onto the hexagonal metal shaft. You will need to push quite hard; be careful not to damage the shaft or gearbox.	2. Slide a LEGO wheel of you choice onto the adapter.

The adapter fits very tightly on the metal shaft, so that it will remain attached to the shaft when the wheel is removed. We recommend that you leave the adapter permanently attached to the metal axle; repeated removal and insertion may loosen the connection, making it more likely to fall off.
